    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Faythann Fallon Newsletter and Outreach Editor 401-222-3636 ext. 435 ffallon@ripbs.org Rhode Island PBS Annual Fundraiser to Feature PBS Chefs Bridget Lancaster and Bryan Roof The public media organization’s Uncorked! event returns April 12, 2024 PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (March 18, 2024) - Rhode Island PBS is delighted to announce the details for this year’s Uncorked!, recognized as the 2023 Best of Rhode Island Editors’ Pick for a Food and Wine Event. The event is set to take place on April 12, 2024, at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, at 6 p.m. PBS chefs Bridget Lancaster from America's Test Kitchen and Bryan Roof from Cook's Country will join Rhode Island PBS as the event's celebrity guests. VIP ticket holders will have access to an exclusive pre-event reception from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with Lancaster and Roof, followed by a book signing open to all attendees. Celebrating its 23rd year, Uncorked! stands as the public media organization's largest fundraising event. Attendees can anticipate an evening of culinary delights, art appreciation, and community togetherness. Guiding the festivities will be Ashley Erling, director of local content and executive producer of The Rhode Show, and Doug Palmieri, iHeartMedia Providence program director and co-host of NOW 93.3’s Doug and Jenn Morning Show. The theme for this year’s Uncorked! draws inspiration from Pop Art and centers around the Rhode Island PBS original series, ART inc. Attendees and the community will have the opportunity to explore the curated work of artists profiled in the series, displayed at the WaterFire Arts Center gallery from April 4 through April 28. True to tradition, Uncorked! returns with an enticing selection of small bites and beverage samples from New England restaurants, confectionaries, distilleries, breweries, and local and international vineyards. Attendees can also look forward to an instant-win wine grab, raffle, and a live and silent auction. Details regarding participating vendors, the raffle, and auction items will be available on the Rhode Island PBS website. Tickets for Uncorked! are now on sale at ripbs.org. Early bird pricing for VIP and general admission tickets will be available until March 21, 2024. All guests must be 21 and older to attend. About Bridget Lancaster Bridget Lancaster is an executive editorial director for America’s Test Kitchen. She’s known to millions of fans as a co-host of America’s Test Kitchen and Cook’s Country, which both air on public television. Bridget began working as a test cook for Cook’s Illustrated in 1998; she was also part of the launch team for Cook’s Country magazine and led the magazine’s recipe development. Bridget is the lead instructor for America’s Test Kitchen Online Cooking School and has created hundreds of instructional videos. In her earlier career, she cooked in restaurant kitchens in the South and the Northeast, concentrating on pastry. She was inducted into the prestigious Disciples d’Escoffier culinary society in 2018. About Bryan Roof Bryan Roof is the editorial director for Cook’s Country magazine and an on-screen test cook for Cook’s Country. He began working as a test cook for Cook’s Illustrated in 2006; has been an onscreen test cook on America’s Test Kitchen and Cook’s Country for 12 seasons; and has worked on various magazine, book, TV, and web projects. To find recipe inspiration for Cook’s Country and to get a firsthand look at how the United States cooks and eats, Bryan travels throughout the country attending food festivals, visiting mom-and-pop restaurants, and cooking with people in their home kitchens. You can follow his travel and eating adventures on his YouTube show: On The Road with Bryan Roof. He holds an AAS degree from Johnson & Wales University and a BS in food and nutrition from Framingham State University and is a registered dietitian. Bryan cooked in restaurants along the East Coast before landing in Boston in 2001. About Ashley Erling Ashley Erling has been in the television industry for more than a decade and is currently the Director of Local Content and on-air personality for WPRI 12, FOX Providence, The CW Providence, and MyRI TV. She oversees The Rhode Show along with all other local programming across those stations. Ashley also has a weekly series on WPRI 12 News This Morning Saturdays at 9 a.m. called What’s Happening spotlighting local events and attractions. She is passionate about her community; involved in several local organizations and committees in Rhode Island.
