East Greenwich’s Third Annual Restaurant Week Enters Final Weekend

Food lovers from all over Rhode Island and Southern New England have been pouring into East Greenwich this week for the 3^rd Annual East Greenwich Restaurant Week. With 33 of the best restaurants in East Greenwich participating it’s no wonder why this event has received so much attention. “Traffic to our website has increased 10 fold this month from people viewing the wonderful offerings from our member restaurants” says East Greenwich Chamber Executive Director Stephen Lombardi. Lisa Altieri Owner of Dante’s Kitchen says “Our featured entrée Sage Fried Chicken and Waffles with bourbon syrup has been a huge hit this week and has brought a lot of new faces to our restaurant”. Mark Finn Owner of Finn’s Harborside adds” I am very pleased with the Restaurant Week activity and the opportunity to introduce our restaurant to new patrons”

East Greenwich Restaurant Week kicked off on September 18^th with “Savor East Greenwich” at the East Greenwich Yacht Club. Over 150 attendees came to sample dishes from Eleven Forty Nine, Chianti’s, Dante’s Kitchen, Finn’s Harborside, Fresco, Main Street Coffee, B.Pinelli’s, Rasa and Jigger’s. With proceeds going to benefit the East Greenwich Animal Protection League, the event was well received and was a great start to this annual community event.   

With all the attention the East Greenwich community has been receiving during this week, East Greenwich Chamber retailers are joining in on the fun offering specials and sales to patrons coming in with receipts from participating restaurants. “With all the new faces in town we are excited to get them in our store to see our lineup of fall lingerie” says Cheryl Andreson Manager of Staci’s Place Fine Intimates and Apparel. “Participation from the merchants and businesses in East Greenwich capitalizing on this opportunity underscores the importance of programs like Restaurant Week in our efforts to better East Greenwich as a place to live, work, play and do business” added Director Lombardi.
